You have to press this sling shot button everytime you have a new pet. It opens up the skills that you could teach your pet including GROWL. I'll play an Orc hunter, so: lvl 1-31 with a boar, 32-60 with a STV Tiger. No dash before level 32: boar is tanky and has charge. Leveling as BM a cat is tanky enough and these tigers have 1,3 attack speed so it helps for Frenzy procs and world pvp. This means a pet that hits less often but for bigger crits, which can make for better aggro control.
